We Stand with Jerry

Recently, Jerry Falwell Jr. made remarks concerning Muslims and concealed carry. He has since clarified those remarks stating that he was referring to the recent attackers in Paris and San Bernardino. Falwell also strongly encouraged students to get their carry permits and to be armed.

Students at Liberty for Gun Rights would like to show strong support for President Falwell’s remarks on concealed carry. Despite the liberal media’s attempt to defame President Falwell and his pro-gun comments, Liberty’s weapons policy is one that reflects the God-given right to self-defense. It is one of the most gun friendly policies in the nation, and SL4GR has been at the forefront of promoting and defending it. Since our beginning, we have promoted this policy by bringing in firearm experts for additional training, teaching firearm safety, and communicating to members LUPD’s concealed carry classes.

SL4GR has reviewed the weapons policy at Liberty and, while not perfect, makes LU’s campus considerably safer compared to most campuses around the country. Every mass shooting since 1950, except for two, has happened in a gun free zone. Our weapons policy allows students, faculty and staff to carry firearms concealed and protect themselves.

Students at Liberty for Gun Rights stands in solidarity with Jerry. I, along with Jerry, strongly encourage you to get your carry permits and carry on campus.
